Viper Creek Club take Mash Hall’s “Can You Stand the Reign” and submerge the original 90’s-loving nostalgia in an electronic wash of turbulent synth and voltaic thump. It’s equal parts unlikely and pleasing. Mat Wisner and company are crazy for this one.

Doughkain’s “Northwest Coast” is a good soundtrack for any Northwest summer activity, except for napping peacefully in the shade. Roll (a blunt/in your car) to this sh-t. Northwest does gangsta, too. What, you ain’t know?
Brainstorm, Dyme Def’s sensitive sh-t talker, goes out of his way to say “Thank you,” to the fans and “F-ck you,” to the haters. With so many free drops, the Renton homie seems to be on his restless grind these days.

The Sacramento hip-hop duo DLRN (formerly known as “Delorean” — name change presumably due to the existence of the indie rock outfit of the same moniker) has released a new EP called The Bridge which can be had for free here. Similar in style and substance to the group’s debut release, No More Heroes, this new eight-track collection is heavier on soul and collaborative endeavors, including the song “Reset” featuring Seattle rap hero, Prometheus Brown (aka. Geo of Blue Scholars).
