My Torontonian girlfriend is always quick to remind me that she shares a home city with Deborah Cox. Nationality doesn’t really play into The Good Sin’s latest #FallBackSeason release, but there is a little vocal snippet of the song DC is most known for. “How Did You Get Here?” (Sinseer’s version) is a little muddled, but the original is anything but. Let’s reminisce for old time’s sake.

NEW MUSIC: “Julie” – Jasper T (feat. John Crown)

Jasper T. is a singer/songwriter and instrumentalist working on his first album, The Sweet Dark Pt. 1. “Julie” is an acoustic track from that collection featuring one of this blog’s favorite MCs from the 253, John Crown. Word is the two will be working on a collaborative project as well. It’s definitely something different than what we’re used to hearing from JC, but I think it’s pretty fresh.

LakeHouse Entertainment head Benadrill recently completed his West Coast Trilogy video series. Watch the rapper-skater apply his own particular brand of the DIY ethos to the joints “Light Skin” (which you’ve seen before on this blog), “Ching Ching”, and “Tilted”. The clips were filmed in Seattle, Los Angeles and San Francisco, respectively. You can find all three tracks on the MC’s latest, The Burna Supremacy.

Fresh from that other MMG, producer Def Dee and MC Zar with a short burst of that good: Zulu Delta EP is free on the Camp today. Mine ears have yet to hear, but I trust any drums Def touches and, as far as Zar goes, well, you’ve got one of the most capable producers in Town behind you, son.

Thanks to the homie Scribes for linking me to Aaron Cohen’s most recent mixtape, Murk, which was released late last year behind the formidable push of Mishka NYC. AC hails from Seward Park but now makes his home in Queens, New York. Seattle rap once again out the perimeter.
