And the Valentine’s Day drops keep coming. Don’t forget to acknowledge that special someone today. Girlfriends, boyfriends, wives, husbands. Hell, even jump-offs and F-buddies of all types. Everyone can get it!
Sol pays tribute with “For The Love” featuring Dice on back-up and DJ Nphared on the boards.
New drop from State Of The Artist: “I Think I Love You.” It’s available for the price of four clicks above and below. This electro-hip/pop banger grabs you like the over-eager girl on the dance floor. The SOTA boys spit PG-13 come-ons suitable for the bedroom or the club. The best part, though, is Janae Jones’ flirtatious contemplations. She sounds like the sexiest conflicted android since Rachael in Blade Runner.
If Seattle rap were a circus, Kung Foo Grip would be the lyrical acrobats. More of that pure battle rap sh-t here on “Infinity,” the first single from the crew’s forthcoming, CAPITALIZE.
February 11’s edition of The TrackMeet already marks the fifth week of the feature’s existence, and I must say it’s been a huge success. The last three entries have seen up to a thousand votes per week. Local artists are responding with a huge amount of love and support by way of links and features on their blogs, Facebook, Youtube and Myspace pages. A salute to everyone who’s taken the time to listen and vote!
Props to the winner of last week’s TrackMeet competition, J-Pros and their track, “Verbal Assault II.” See what that crew is all about, here.
Tope is one half of the rap crew Living Proof, winners of the first edition of 206UP.COM’s The TrackMeet. (Click here in case you missed it, dun.) “So Long” was originally intended for the group’s sophomore album, Full Speed, but instead turned into a solo joint for Tope. You might not know this cat yet, but if you’re a Northwest rap fiend (and you must be if you’re reading this blog) then Destro needs no introduction.
For a limited time only, Scribes is offering a FREE download of his new LP, What Was Lost. Get with that here, or click the album cover above for the D/L link. For those not familiar with dude, it’s definitely worth your time and minimal effort. What Was Lost is high quality straight-forward boom-bap and Scribes’ expert in-the-pocket flow sets him apart from the greater majority of Town rappers.
Look for a full album Review coming soon on 206UP.COM.
Hi-Life Soundsystem just dropped their FREE full-length. I’ll be back with more on this later (stealing time at work to blog — that’s a no-no!). Get it by clicking on the album cover above or with the adorable little Bandcamp widget below.
