Our favorite Eastside crew Kung Foo Grip dropped a video for the title track to their most recent endeavor, Growing Up In The Future. Among a bevy of rap groups trying to find room in the local pool, KFG is essential.

VIDEO: “Iridescent Asteroid Mists” – Vox Mod (feat. Palaceer Lazaro)
And while we’re on a Palaceer Lazaro cameo trip…
This here is the video for “Iridescent Asteroid Mists,” the opening track to Vox Mod’s recent Syn-Aesthetic which you can spin below. The track is full of bright synth and electronic thump, perfect for your at-home or work commute headphone space. The Palaceer lends a fresh old school flow to the proceedings.
VM reaches for the cosmic and metaphysical in the descriptions for each of Syn-Aesthetic‘s tracks, and for this particular joint he has this to say: “Ishmael Butler aka Palaceer Lazaro of Shabazz Palaces describes multidimensional celestial visions.”
VIDEO: “My Backpack” – The MC Type & Prof
An anonymous reader once told me that he met a local DJ/producer on the street whose reputation as a true school hip-hop representative was often called into question. That is until said DJ pulled from his magical backpack a copy of A Tribe Called Quest’s People’s Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm. And a vinyl one at that! Hallelujah! All doubts erased!
The situation described above might be what The MC Type is goofing on in his hilarious video for “My Backpack.” Because, after all, a stethoscope does not a doctor make.
VIDEO: “True God Flow” – Mega Evers
Mega Evers is a Central District alum who this blog has been slow to come around to. The video for “True God Flow” dropped in mid-January and the mixtape on which it appears, No Concept, followed in late February. Both are here for your listening and viewing pleasure. Synth and rapid-fire hi-hats abound, so if you’re into that sorta thing I expect you’ll love it.

NEW MUSIC: Eye 8 The Crow – Art Vandelay
More laughter in the face of societal degradation by Art Vandelay. Eye 8 The Crow is the duo’s third album in as many years. We’re still breathing and listening, much to Ricky Pharoe and Mack Formway’s chagrin.
