NEW MUSIC: MCMXCII – Dave B.
Dave B is a new kid on the scene. Linking with established producers KD Cutz, Tryfe and Kuddie Fresh, his full-length (and un-Googleable-y titled) album MCMXCII (that’s 1992 for those of you not up on your Roman numeral game) dropped today. Click through the images above for the download.
Below check out his most recent video for “Honor Roll” (directed by Avi Loud) and catch Dave opening for Brothers From Another at the Crocodile on July 29.
VIDEO: “Big Bro” – Fatal Lucciauno
I love the slow crawling menace of this track (those heavy keys and stabbing synth are courtesy of producer Kuddie Fresh). Is Respect the best Seattle hip-hop album of the year thus far? The answer’s “Yes” for my money.
VIDEO: “Dreams To Make It” – Antbeezy (dir. by Avi Loud)
Antbeezy got that first hi-def (along with a gang of 206 cameos) courtesy of director Avi Loud. Everything looks and sounds lovely on this clip for “Dreams To Make It.” Go get ’em young lion.
VIDEO & DOWNLOAD: “Chasing Amy” – Know Choice
Recent Brooklyn relocatee Know Choice finds himself the victim of star-crossed love in the city. A surprisingly deft and heavy-handed video for what could otherwise have been exploitative and fetishist. Props to the Eastside MC for the thoughtful track.
VIDEO: “F.u.t.u.r.e.” – Khingz
Another dramatic clip from the homie Khingz, this time for “F.u.t.u.r.e.” off last year’s Liberation of the Monster, available here.
VIDEO: “Feeding My Flame” – Avatar Young Blaze (dir. by Jon Augustavo)
Avatar Young Blaze as the baby-faced вампир. Some fairly compelling, if not heinous, storytelling here by Av and frequent video collaborator JonJon.
VIDEO: “Let It Be” – Dyme Def (dir. by The Note)
This track is at least six years old, but seems to resonate around Town more than any other Dyme Def song to date. The Note picks up the HD for directorial duties.
VIDEO: “Beginning” – Clemm Rishad
Tacoma’s Clemm Rishad is one half of the Writers Block, a duo responsible for penning some of your favorite KUBE 93 rotation fodder. He’s got a burgeoning solo hustle, too. “Beginning” is his latest video.
VIDEO: “Marathon” (live on The Underground Railroad) – CopperWire
CopperWire (Gabriel Teodros x Meklit Hadero x Burntface) came through for a performance and interview segment on The Underground Railroad, the legendary hip-hop show on New York’s WBAI radio. The first voice you hear in the interview (other than host Jay Smooth’s) is that of the SEA’s own Gabriel Teodros. A very nice look for CopperWire and hopefully the sign of even greater exposure for the groundbreaking crew.
