Seattle multimedia artist Mike Folden recently did a nice video profile on Scribes. I’ve never met dude, but he comes across as a thoughtful, intensely focused artist. Peep that above and download his latest full-length, What Was Lost, for free here. Scribes gets a great live look on June 10 when he opens for Pharoahe Monch at The Crocodile.
For a limited time only, Scribes is offering a FREE download of his new LP, What Was Lost. Get with that here, or click the album cover above for the D/L link. For those not familiar with dude, it’s definitely worth your time and minimal effort. What Was Lost is high quality straight-forward boom-bap and Scribes’ expert in-the-pocket flow sets him apart from the greater majority of Town rappers.

Got-damn this track reminds me of a joint I heard years ago, but f-ck all if I can’t remember what it is. Something about the tone in that keyboard…Anyway, Scribes leaked this about a week ago. It’s the first track off his forthcoming LP, What Was Lost (dropping 2.4.11). Bean on the beat. JFK on the guest bars. Scribes sounds loose and ready to hang with the major SEA players, talkin’ about that age-old dilemma so many rappers (and any artists for that matter) face: “Wantin’ cheese/But I really want the songs that change/It’s the soul on the top of the game.”
