A million and one MCs in the underground, but few have lyrical ability like Savant. You’ve probably never heard of this Chicagoan who now hustles hard in both music and matriculation in Arizona. “Make Your Move” is his first look on the video tip. Get familiar.

VIDEO: “I Shoulda Knew” – Framework

The best kept secret in local rap blogs is Northwest TV, a site that compiles hip-hop music videos from all over the Pac NW. Miss the link to a video an artist Tweeted two days ago? No worries, NW TV will probably have it covered in short.

Here, from the vaults, is a clip from missing-in-action OG, Framework. “I Shoulda Knew” finds Frame going in against snitches, his gravelly rasp as raw as the pavement they find touching their backsides.

VIDEO: “Back to the Paper” – Clemm Rishad

At the most fundamental level of The Hustle, there is so very little separating the haste of the investment banker from the dude on the corner selling [enter product name here]. VIDEO: “LittleManBigCity” – Sam Lachow

There are no children to this blogger’s name, but if there were, best believe I would have a very hard time raising them in a city like New York. This place is big, bad, hungry, and deigns not to the weak of heart. Seattle son and current New York City resident Sam Lachow understands this and “LittleManBigCity” is his cautionary tale/proverbial slug to the arm of his little brother, Charlie, who finds himself young and bright-eyed in a town known for making and destroying the dreams of its residents, age notwithstanding. Be that as it may, I wouldn’t trade the last four years living in this city for anything, and I would wager that Sam and Charlie feel exactly the same way.

Check out more about MC/producer/director Sam Lachow and his new LP, Brand New Bike, here.
