February 11’s edition of The TrackMeet already marks the fifth week of the feature’s existence, and I must say it’s been a huge success. The last three entries have seen up to a thousand votes per week. Local artists are responding with a huge amount of love and support by way of links and features on their blogs, Facebook, Youtube and Myspace pages. Dyme Def did something completely different with last year’s Sex Tape, an album that would have been easy to hate on if it hadn’t been executed so well. I prefer them when they’re making Space Music but mu’f-ckas gotta grow, so good on ’em for it. “Timeless” is the second video from Sex Tape. It’s danceable, updated disco; stuff you’re used to hearing on Clear Channel, so go ahead and get down, wallflowers.
Tope is one half of the rap crew Living Proof, winners of the first edition of 206UP.COM’s The TrackMeet. (Click here in case you missed it, dun.) “So Long” was originally intended for the group’s sophomore album, Full Speed, but instead turned into a solo joint for Tope. You might not know this cat yet, but if you’re a Northwest rap fiend (and you must be if you’re reading this blog) then Destro needs no introduction.
